Alaga ~ A Filipino word meaning to care for one as if they are family.

Kimmy Mata, Director of Patient Care

Alaga Hospice is owned and operated by a team of ICU and Hospice Nurses. This allows us to have a better understanding of one's needs as they transition to the final stages of life. ICU nurses often see the worst of situations in the medical field and are keenly aware of the physical and emotional needs of patients. Hospice nurses are among the most compassionate nurses, whose calling is to care for terminally ill patients and their family.

When teamed together, we as a group are very good at delivering what we know you need the most, because we see it day to day. We created Alaga Hospice to be different, to provide compassionate care that is EFFECTIVE. We are different as we have experienced both sides, aggressive disease treatment and comfort focused care. Together with our Medical Director who is an ICU physician as well, we are confident that we will deliver the best hospice care in Yavapai County.
